IFHC's PURPOSE

The Institute of Federal Health Care is a nonprofit 501c3 entity that stimulates and promotes analysis, interaction and dialogue on critical issues in healthcare.

It works to enhance communication among public- and private-sector officials and to provide insights that can help them translate innovative thinking into policy and practical application. IFHC also promotes critical and creative thinking among leaders of the future.

The Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP) is a product of the growing commitment to provide safer and higher quality surgical care. It is a national partnership of organizations that are committed to improving the safety of surgical care by providing hospitals, physicians, nurses and other care givers access to effective strategies for reducing post-operative complications. Federal Health Update:
• Express Scripts wins the TRICARE Pharmacy Program Services (TPharm) contract.

• The Department of Defense (DoD) establishes a new Physical Disability Board of Review (PDBR) to review disability ratings of wounded warriors and provide another avenue of administrative recourse for our wounded veterans.

• On July 1, 2008, SureScripts and RxHub announced they will merge and consolidate their operations to form a single, secure, nationwide network for e-prescriptions and the exchange of health information.
